Dapur Kak Elle

Saturday, June 30, 2007

I plan to cook pulut durian (serawa) for sunday's dessert so after doing my billing around 8.30pm I went down across the road to buy some durian along with the beras pulut and santan kara.
Mak lang this is whats left of the tomyam soup tonite ok ok rasa nya tak lah sesedap kat thai restaurant or maybe you own cooking :) Its enough for me and my father to have that with rice only with no other dishes...hehe..kita berdua tak cerewet tentang makan.Afterall lots of ingrdients in the soup-prawns,sotong,fish ball, carrots and cauliflower.

Maklang and Rina came online and we chat for few minutes and after that I excuse myself to buy these durians....4 packs and it cost me S$17.00 and its D24 durian so its ok.
Maklang ni durian yang sudah di-kopek (bahasa sg tau bukan Ganu)...hahaaa

Dan juga membeli pulut dan santan untuk serawa durian.
Dan juga a tin of this carbonated cherryade....on hot night ni sedap dapat minum ni bersama ice kan?

Angan2 juga nak masak nasi lemak dengan sambal tumis sotong ni,balik kerja tadi beli lah sotong kering yg sudah di rendam, ptg tadi dah membersih nya dan potong2 dah rebus supaya esok bila masak sambal tak payah lah tunggu lama sangat.

At 9pm ............

Bila ku balik dapat sms dari adik -ku yg pemurah hati Aini ...."don't cook tomorrow will come and fetch you and father at 12 noon to lunch at Caroussel"..part 1 of her birthday celebration.... oh wow best nya makan kat 5 * hotel....hahaha.....

eh apa I nak buat ngan durian2 ni semua tak kan nak makan sesorang malam ni???ada sesiapa nak?bolih hantar thru' cyber:)

There goes my plan for tomorrow's menu now but to be treated to Caroussel better not reject nak pergi sendiri mahal sorang dah S$36/-belum ++ lagi.Syukur alhamdulillah dapat makan percuma lagi.

Semoga dimurahkan rezeki dear Aini but tomorrow no birthday present ok will give on actual day if you are not oversea for meeting.

&&&&&&&&&&&

update @ 9.45am.

I decide to cook the sotong afterall since I did a good job of it yesterday penat membersihkan and merebus nya juga.So here's the result ..... sedap di makan for breakfast.

Nazrah if you are reading this next time tak payah nak kerik2 sotong tu beli aje yg macam ni senang:)

Sambal sotong kering memang sedap angan2 tu nak makan dgn nasi lemak but since ada invitation for buffet lunch cancel the thoughts.
OK am eating it with pratha(roti canai) and naan .... for breakfast and also at 11am my nephew Hafiz will drop by after his madrasah and my sis and family will be here to fetch him and also their weekely visit to my father so incase if he is hungry before the lunch there's something to bite:)
Incase if semua nak makan here's bread to the rescue ...............hahaha
Recipe of sambal available at dapur kakelle cuba2 lah ok?

till my next entry...........

Durian tu hantar fedex kat Cath boleh..? Dah lama Cath tak makan durian tempatan.
Kat USA ni, frozen durian ada lah. Mahal nak mampus. Rasa-nya lebih kurang tapi tak sesedap fresh durian.

Kak Elle,
Cath ni anak Cina tulen from KL tapi banyak bergaul dengan Malay, since I was a kid. Ramai kawan budak2 melayu kat kampung & sekolah. Cath juga pernah 'berdating' with a Malay guy (Arkitek) tapi jodoh tak ada, Kak Elle, apa nak buat, kan?

Oh pasal nama Kak Ram tu long story. Minah PJ yang tinggalkan comment kat blog Cath tu sebenarnya member pada forum yang selalu kita berdua kunjungi tiap2 hari. Nickname Cath kat forum tu ialah Rambutan, but since everyone thought I speak good Malay (cis perasan sungguh budak ni), dia orang panggil Cath - Kak Ram... Hehehe.

Ada yang panggil Adik Ram, Ram Ram, Ramlah Ram - macam2 dia orang ni... Hahaha

What a coincidence, Kak Elle. On Saturday, I had serawa durian with pulut and lemang. And also sambal sotong like yours. Bukan I yang masak, though. Went to BIL's house and we had a fruit feast - from their dusun. My SIL buat pulut, I beli lemang and my MIL masak serawa durian. ANyway, you buat serawa durian macamana Kak Elle? Do you put in the whole ulas of durian together with the seed? My MIL removes the seeds and then blends the durian pulp - the result is a very smooth serawa (this style is more common in the north, I think).
