Singapore writers festival 2007
Today 7th Dec '07 is when the books by Awang Goneng and Manaf Hamzah are being launched during the Sg writers festival held at the Arts House.
Initially I was to go straight from work hence in the morning I brought everything with me to work but I managed to get a halfday leave so I won't miss the opening speech etc.....
As usual it has been raining since morning and at 5pm the weather doesn't look good so dear old me as usual flagged the taxi at 5.30pm and at this hour as we all know the traffic will be bad ....the rush hour!! every where jam and also it was drizzling and the cab fare cost me $18.00:(
I reached at the Arts House just after 6pm and the speech was about to begin ..... met some friends .... Norabella and her Ratauan .com members.
When I finally get to earshot cafe kak teh saw me and muah...muah...peluk2 ... lama tak jumpa kan?.....hahaha ..... kak teh looks good as always:) Inspite of that 16 hours flight from London....yes they arrived only yesterday and tomorrow they will be leaving for KL for few weeks stay and also to attend a wedding.
Please take note photos are a bit on the dark side as the launch was done in a cafe where the lights are dim ....... not the camera eh or camera girl......hahahaha nevertheless I did some adjustment to the lighting so some pictures may appear a little brighter.

She was busy cam-whoring ..... heheheI had also the oportunity to meet another writer Manaf Hamzah .... sorry to say I am yet to read his book but have heard of his books....which during the reading you cry bucketsssssssssss.

I also get to meet another writer whom like Manaf Hamzah I am yet to read their books..... thats Isa Kamari.We had a light refreshment of white rice and chicken tandoori,fish masala,egg sambal and mixed vege along with lemon drink.
We finally bade farewell to kak teh and awang goneng at almost 9pm and left for home and since I have Nora as partner we went home by train (otherwise good old me will just flag the cab)......hahahaha
Looks like I will be glued to my bed and books just like d in Coventry:)
Happiness shows in Nora's face in meeting Awang Goneng and whats more dapat collector's signature lagi....hehehe

Kak Elle, It was a good evening right? This is the 1st of its kind of book launching that I ever attended...apa lagi bila dapat peluang jumpa the great writers like AG (yang pemalu tapi really..so soft spoken with good crisp Queen's English! Patutle Kak Teh cair eh..)Lovely couple kan!
Manaf Hamzah & Isa Kamari are good writers too. I belum start baca novels mereka..mungkin hari ini.

if im not mistaken GUIT is being sold at MPH but ive yet to see it at Tampines outlet. congrats to the author.

membaca novels in malay last 3 yrs itew pun ternampak Huda membaca dah pinam dari nya ..tersangkut dah....hahaha....tapi saya minati karya norhayati ibrahim...
hari2 hujan kat sini kaklady...mendung dari pagi sampai ke mlm...hujan tak menentu.

my doc Adah is now in Eygpt for 2 wks hols and I told her to read ur blog abt it so she has am picture what to expect.

wow happening !. I've got GUiT last week from mph bandar utama. as i was also grown up in terengganu, AG's writtings really brought sweet memories to me. i was at KLCC on saturday evening, but didn't know AG and kak teh were there. any chance of meeting them in kl now ?

they were @ konikuniya yesterday 9th dec @ 4pm for book signing...kalau tak salah KT mention they will be in malaysia till the 20th but not 2 sure issit dec or january...cos AG told me 1 month stay...want me to check it up for u can sms her?
